iNaturalist is a fantastic online resource with which users can record their own observations of species from anywhere. Even if you cannot identify an organism yourself, iNaturalist can make suggestions based on existing data, or experts can identify it as well. Compiled data from millions of observations contributes to the collective database of global biodiversity. The best part is that every observation truly matters! Scientists and researchers can access this data and use it in their studies.
Fun tip: put https://www.inaturalist.org/stats/[year]/[username] in your url bar (with the current year and your username) to see a summary of all of your observations from this year!
